The Islamic Calendar started from the year 622, all the more absolutely 19 April of the Julian year of 622. It was reflectively settled in 638 by Umar canister Khattab, the Islamic caliph around then, as the year 1 of Hijri time. It was the point at which the Prophet Muhammad and his supporters emigrated from Mecca to Medina, known as the Hijra.
