Dupattas are the traditional indian dresses in australia headdress worn by women. It consists of two pieces of cloth, one wrapped around the forehead and the other over it. These are tied together at the back with strings called “dupattas”. These are typically made out of silk or cotton and are generally worn by married women. The dupatta is commonly associated with Muslim women, but it was worn by Hindu women as well. In India, these are often given away as wedding gifts.
