Fildena 120 Tablet based on the ingredient Sildenafil are widely used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). ED is a condition in which a man cannot maintain an erection for an adequate length of time. This is usually due to a lack of blood flow to the penis. By blocking the action of a phosphodiesterase type-5, or PDE-5, sildenafil increases cGMP levels in the Corpus Cavernosum of the penis. This results in increased blood flow and smooth muscle relaxation, leading to an effective erection.
Sildenafil is available in a number of different forms. It comes in a liquid, tablet, or IV form, and is typically used to treat erectile dysfunction. Medications that interact with sildenafil can have a negative effect on the effectiveness of the drug. The length of time the drug works, or the amount of blood it can reach, may be decreased.
The effects of sildenafil begin to appear within 30 to 60 minutes of a single dose. The effect on blood pressure is generally mild, and may last for two hours. People who have low blood pressure should talk with their doctor before taking this medicine. The pill should not be taken by women who are pregnant, have a history of heart problems, or have liver or kidney disease. It should also not be combined with other ED treatments.

In a clinical trial, sildenafil was shown to increase the number of successful intercourse attempts. In the trials, participants were randomized to receive either sildenafil or placebo.
The weighted mean end-of-treatment IIEF score for participants randomized to sildenafil was 3.8; for those randomized to placebo, the score was 2.3. This indicates that on average, men receiving sildenafil had erections sufficient to penetrate their partner much more than half of the time.
