Phantom Wallet is a self-custody wallet designed especially for Solana blockchain users. This extension does not support the Ethereum blockchain network now and to overcome this obstacle the developers of Phantom Wallet Extension are working on it. Soon there will be an update where this extension will also support the Ethereum blockchain network. And when it will happen the Phantom Wallet will become the biggest competitor of the most popular wallet known as MetaMask Wallet. Almost all the functions of both the platforms are same. For instance, MetaMask Wallet Extension and Phantom Wallet Extension support the Ledger wallet.
Not much time has passed since its launch. As it was introduced in January 2021. And it gained around 2 million monthly active users within just 6 months of launch. Now you can imagine the popularity of this extension. All the currencies that are available on the Solana blockchain are supported by it. Another remarkable feature is that there is no limitation in the supported browsers because it can be operated on any of them. Although if we compare it with MetaMask then its limitation is that the MetaMask has its own mobile application to simplify the trading process for its traders. Whereas Phantom Wallet Extension does not have a mobile application yet. Talking about its security measures it is not wrong to say that it is a secure platform as a top software security checking company called Kudelski Security has audited it and has not reported any fault.
