Vilitra 60 mg is a higher-dose version of Vardenafil, which is primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) by increasing blood flow to the penis. However, like other PDE5 inhibitors (e.g., Viagra and Cialis), Vilitra 60 mg is sometimes used off-label for conditions other than its intended use for ED. What Does "Off-Label" Mean? "Off-label use" refers to the prescription of a drug for purposes other than those approved by regulatory authorities like the FDA. In the case of Vilitra 60 Mg while it is approved for erectile dysfunction, doctors may sometimes prescribe it for other conditions based on their medical judgment, clinical evidence, or patient needs. Why is Vilitra 60 mg Used Off-Label? Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH): PAH is a serious condition where there is high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs. While Cialis (Tadalafil) and Revatio (Sildenafil) are more commonly used to treat PAH, Vardenafil (the active ingredient in Vilitra) can also be effective in relaxing and dilating the blood vessels in the lungs, improving blood flow, and reducing blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries. Off-label use: Vilitra 60 mg may be prescribed off-label in patients with PAH, especially if other medications are not effective or well-tolerated. Raynaud's Phenomenon: Raynaud's phenomenon is a condition that affects the blood vessels, especially in the fingers and toes, causing them to constrict in response to cold or stress, leading to pain, numbness, and discoloration. Some studies suggest that PDE5 inhibitors like Vardenafil can help relax these blood vessels and improve blood flow in people with Raynaud’s phenomenon.
