As IT professionals, part of our continuous growth involves choosing the right areas for professional learning. In 2026, Cisco Products still dominate certification programs and remain widely deployed in enterprise networks. However, with so many solutions in their portfolio — Catalyst switches, Meraki cloud-managed devices, routers, firewalls, and collaboration tools — it’s not easy to decide where to focus.
I’ve noticed more organizations moving toward Meraki because of its cloud-first management approach, while others remain committed to traditional Cisco Products like Catalyst switches for their reliability and control. From a professional learning perspective, does it make sense to specialize in one branch of Cisco, or should we aim for broader coverage across multiple solutions?
Another question is certifications. Cisco has modernized their CCNA and CCNP tracks, integrating automation, SD-WAN, and security topics. For those of you working with Cisco Products, are the new certifications aligned with what you see in the field? Or do they feel more theoretical than practical?
I’d love to hear what other professionals are doing. Which Cisco Products are most relevant in your networks this year, and how are you prioritizing learning them for long-term career value?
