I’ve been running a small handmade jewelry shop on Etsy for about six months, and I’m wondering if upgrading to branded packaging is worth the cost. I found The Packaging World and saw they offer both Custom Shipping Boxes and Custom Cosmetic Boxes, but I’m hesitant to invest too early. My current plain mailers get the job done, though they’re definitely not “Instagram-worthy.” Some of my friends say that first impressions really matter for online brands, while others think customers mostly care about the product itself. I’d love to create a memorable unboxing moment, but I also need to be realistic about my margins. I’m curious what kind of difference custom packaging made for other small business owners—did it actually increase repeat orders or social media engagement? What do you all think? Is branded packaging more of a nice-to-have or a true necessity in today’s e-commerce world?
