Diablo 4 is celebrating its third anniversary with a big in-game event running from June 2 to June 9, 2026, and honestly, it looks like one of the better community events Blizzard has done in a while. Between the return of Mother's Blessing, the March of the Goblins event, and several free cosmetic rewards, there's a good reason for both returning players and active grinders to jump back into Sanctuary for the week.
The biggest highlight for most players will probably be Mother's Blessing. Starting June 2 at 10:00 a.m. PDT, players across both Seasonal and Eternal Realms will get boosted XP gains on every World Tier. Since the bonus is multiplicative, leveling feels noticeably faster, especially when combined with Elixirs and other progression boosts. If you've been putting off leveling a new class, finishing your seasonal journey, or pushing Paragon levels, this is honestly one of the best times to do it.
March of the Goblins is also returning during the anniversary event, bringing back the goblin reputation board and its progression rewards. Players can hunt down treasure goblins across Sanctuary to earn reputation and unlock cosmetics, including the Regalia of the Sacred Creed armor set at the final reward tier. Goblin events are always popular in Diablo because they add a little chaos and a lot of extra loot to regular gameplay, and having a reward track gives players a reason to stay engaged throughout the week.
The free cosmetics are another nice surprise. Starting June 1, Blizzard is giving away one free weapon cosmetic per day through the in-game shop. The items include Blood Raven's Talon, King Kanai's Last Stand, Nangari Wounder, Overlord's Odium, and Flamefinger's Claws. You don't need to buy anything to get them either — just log in and claim them before the event ends on June 9.
One thing players will probably appreciate is that the event feels pretty accessible overall. The XP bonuses apply to everyone, the cosmetics are free, and you don't need to grind high-end content just to participate. Whether you're a casual player hopping on for a few hours or someone farming endgame builds daily, there's something useful to get out of the event.
The timing also works well for seasonal players. Faster XP means quicker battle pass progress, easier alt leveling, and less downtime when experimenting with new builds. Events like this usually bring a lot of players back online too, so Sanctuary tends to feel more active during the anniversary week compared to normal seasonal periods.
After three years, Diablo 4 still has a strong player base largely because Blizzard keeps rotating events, seasonal mechanics, and progression systems often enough to keep the grind feeling fresh. The core gameplay loop — fighting through massive packs of enemies, chasing gear upgrades, and refining builds — is still incredibly satisfying when the game is firing on all cylinders.
For anyone who hasn't logged in for a while, the anniversary celebration is probably the perfect excuse to come back and see how much the game has changed. Free cosmetics, bonus XP, goblin farming, and a more active community atmosphere make it a pretty easy recommendation for both veterans and newer players.
