The IPL 2026 Final promised a thrilling showdown between two powerhouse teams, but Royal Challengers Bengaluru had other plans. Playing in front of a massive crowd at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat Titans were expected to make full use of home conditions. Instead, RCB produced a near-perfect bowling performance that left GT struggling throughout their innings.
Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan started positively, finding boundaries early and looking comfortable at the crease. However, Josh Hazlewood changed the momentum when he removed Gill with a well-directed short ball. Soon after, Bhuvneshwar Kumar struck by dismissing Sudharsan, leaving Gujarat under pressure.
RCB's bowlers maintained tight lines and lengths, refusing to allow any meaningful partnerships to develop. Nishant Sindhu showed promise but was dismissed at a crucial stage by Rasikh Salam Dar. Jos Buttler, usually a game-changer, never found his rhythm and eventually fell to Krunal Pandya's clever bowling.
Washington Sundar stood out as the lone fighter for Gujarat Titans. His composed half-century helped push the score forward, but regular wickets prevented GT from building momentum. Contributions from Rahul Tewatia, Jason Holder, and Rashid Khan arrived too late to make a major impact.
RCB's bowling attack worked brilliantly as a unit. Hazlewood, Bhuvneshwar, Krunal, and Rasikh executed their plans perfectly and ensured Gujarat never gained control of the contest.
Just like go exchange focuses on consistency, RCB relied on discipline and teamwork to dominate the first innings of the IPL 2026 Final.
